Change your passphrase
The following options will outline various methods to change or reset your UC Davis Computing Account Kerberos passphrase.
Please click an option below to begin the process:
If you are a UC Davis Applicant:
Applicant Passphrase reset form
If your current passphrase is working and you know what it is:
- Use your current passphrase
If your current passphrase is not working or you do not know what it is:
- Use your challenge questions
- Visit a computer lab
- Visit an account proxy or Education Building at UCDMC
- Fax a form to IT Express
Use your current passphrase
- Go to http://accounts.ucdavis.edu
- Click Change your passphrase
- Enter your information, and click Submit Information
- Type your loginID (username), select Kerberos Passphrase, and click Continue
- Type your Old Kerberos Passphrase, a New passphrase, and Confirm passphrase, then click Continue
- Review the confirmation, then click End Session

Use your challenge questions
- Go to http://accounts.ucdavis.edu
- Click Change your passphrase
- Enter your information, and click Submit Information
- Type your loginID (username), select Passphrase Challenge Questions, and click Continue
- Type the answers to your questions, then click Continue
- Type a New passphrase, and Confirm passphrase, then click Continue
- Review the confirmation, then click End Session

Visit a computer lab
- Five IET computer labs on the Davis campus provide walk-in pasphrase resets
- The passphrase reset service is available weekdays from 8AM to 9PM, except on Fridays when the service ends at 6PM
- Not all computer labs are open during the hours listed above, so please check computer lab hours for availability

Visit an account proxy or Education Building at UCDMC
- Contact an account proxy within your department (if available) for assistance with changing your passphrase
- UC Davis Medical Center faculty and staff can also visit the Blaisdell Medical Library to change their passphrase

Fax a form to IT Express
Please check your specified email address within 24 hours of faxing a completed request form to IT Express

- Download the latest version of the fax reset request form here [PDF]
- Fill out the form fields by typing in values, or printing out the form and filling out by hand
- Attach a state-issued driver license, state-issued ID, or government-Issued passport
- Complete the form by signing and dating the signature portion
- Fax to the number located at the top of the form
